As a year like no other draws to a close, this is your chance to honour the people who made a positive impact on your life during lockdown – and beyond
It’s safe to say 2020 has not turned out the way any of us planned. Hijacked by a tiny virus with global ambitions, we’ve all been forced to dramatically reduce our own horizons. But when people have to stop and focus on their neighbourhoods, beautiful things happen.
You’ll doubtless have seen examples of the adversity of lockdown producing the very best of humanity, so as this tumultuous year draws to a close, we thought it important we all honour those in our neighbourhoods who truly went the extra mile.
We’re asking all the people of Camden to nominate an individual, group or business who they feel deserves an award for their community service during the lockdown – and beyond it too.
A judging panel of local figureheads will review all these to decide who are the ultimate Camden Covid Champions, across a number of categories. We will feature their amazing stories in a special launch print edition of Camdenist, available free throughout the borough at the end of the year. More info on this, and the virtual awards announcement event, to be revealed soon.
You will be given a unique referral link upon voting – share this with your friends, family, neighbours and social media followers to earn points which unlock a tasty selection of local discounts and prizes. 10 points earns you 20% OFF the new Camdenist t-shirt range, 18 points gets you £5 off a bottle of Half Hitch gin from their Camden Market distillery, with more offers to unlock added each week.
The voter with the most points earned from sharing by the closing date of 23rd November wins a luxury King’s Cross staycation for two, including a night at the beautiful Great Northern Hotel with cocktails and a 3-course dinner at Plum+Spilt Milk.
